SPERGOLA EMILIA IGP

This is the most complex and nuanced of Quarticello's winemaker Roberto’s sparkling wines. Composed entirely of Spergola, refermented in the bottle with a little must from the same harvest and disgorged after two years on the lees. The result is a crisp, clean wine with delicate bubbles and complex notes of citrus and minerals that punches well above its weight.

Tasting notes

Straw yellow colour. Aromatic and intense primary fruit flavour. Crisp, clean wine with delicate bubbles and complex notes of citrus and minerals.

Ideal as an aperitivo with cold meats and hard cheeses.

Production process

Traditional method sparkling wine. 2 day maceration and degorgement after 24 months of aging in the bottle. Pas dosé, pas operé. Unfiltered wine.

Fun facts

The Quarticello farm is located in Val d’Enza, Reggio Emilia, on the bank of the river of the same name that divides the provinces of Reggio Emilia and Parma, at the foot of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. The production focuses on native vines such as Lambrusco Maestri, Lambrusco Salamino, Lambrusco Grasparossa, Malbo Gentile and Malvasia di Candia.
